The 3rds were up against Bollington 4ths in a game we needed to win to keep up our quest for league glory.
Tim went on first (at number 2) and had a decisive 3-0 victory. His squash lesson is already showing benefits.
Paul then went on (at number 4), up against the first of the 3 junior players in our opponent’s team. The orders from the captain were to show no mercy and go for maximum points. Paul ruthlessly did this, leaving his opposition somewhat distraught - and his captain proud of the 3-0 victory.
Richard strode onto court (at number 5) to take on another junior. He was somewhat less ruthless, but nevertheless totally effective for another 3-0 victory..winning the third game in a tantalising 15-13.
Andy was on next (at number 3) and was asking how come his junior opponent was bigger than the other juniors. This thought clearly distracted Andy, as he lost the first game. However, he quickly resumed his game and won 3-1.
Tony was on last (at number 1) and, eager to help us get an early tea, he quickly beat his opposition 3-0.
All in all, a great performance against a tricky opposition.
We are now in 3rds place, four points behind the leader.
