Radbroke 2 v Knutsford 3

Match: Knutsford 3 Away to Radbroke 2

Date: 14th October 2010

With a 100% record so far , could the thirds record a fourth straight win ? With the second team also away to Radbroke , plenty of balcony interaction lay ahead . Due to the dismal injury record of the seconds , Smithy and Snapey had been loaned up . Smithy reluctantly , a third teamer through and through , and Snapey the tart who loves it up there and bearly acknowledged his previous mates in the pub later ! , but they both won though ..... . Get it sorted second team , your availability is dreadfull ! ( sorry Evo ) So what about the thirds ? ........ read on ....... Gary Cash first up at 2 , and desparate to play and go . Snapey explained he had to be back to iron his partners trousers ? And Gary didn't hang about , one point after 2 games , a 3-0 set back , and he was off with Jacko's subs still in his pocket ! ( get you next week ) Graham H next on at 4 and just missed out in the first . Great concentration to come back and hold on with error free play to take the tie 3-1 and level the match . Tony H welcomed back at no.3 , against the fairly nimble Phil Hatton ( thats what we agreed yes ? ) . A tight first game then Tony's accuracy was too much for Phil , 3-0 and ahead in the match , vital rubber . Graham T at 5 against a useful new player for Radbroke leaving some of their regulars stranded on the balcony . So tight 9-7,9-6,6-9 , then 4-8 up to square it , but some fortunate shots took it Radbrokes way 3-1 , so 2 a piece with Simon W to take the stage at no. 1 . It's at this point that we reflect on the importance of captaincy , with Jacko on the balcony hamstrung , but still pulling the strings . Simon is second or first team potential , and kept his focus to beat a very capable opponent in John Shaw , winning 3-1 to deliver the victory on the night 15 points to 8 . We all retired to the Cock Inn for excellent festivities , pleased with our win , and it was nice to watch Rog with his new mates . Next week we have another tricky fixture at home to Presbury 5 , lets see if we can make it 5 out of 5 , cheers Bill
