Knutsford 1 v Tollgate 2

Closest match of the season so far as it went to the wire.

First up at 5 was Risley vs masters. No worries here and Risley romped to a 3-0 win.

Next up was Burke vs spencer. A tough match looked in store as spencer had some handy shots. Our man got 1 up with some verve and dash.  Alas it was to no avail and spencer ground out a win 1-3.

Could smith put some more points on the board for Knutsford? Up against a young hard hitting mr roder he was still asleep until the 3rd game. 0-2 down and it wasn't looking good. Some interval coaching from Faulkner saw chris wake up and take the game to his oppo. Chris got the next 2 to set up a finale. Unfortunately chris had run out of puff and luck, going down 4-9. Some good and valuable points though.

So the match in the balance Risley decided to get some points on the board and sent on Faulkner next, Mcilveen looking anxious on the balcony at going on last!!

No worries for our top man and he cruised home to an impressive 3-0 win, only dropping 4 points in the process! Probably glens easiest game all season.

So match all square it was up to Liam to bring it home. Captain confident of a success, looked on in anxiety as Liam dropped the first 2 matches.  This was a tough rubber for Liam. Some more interval coaching was needed from Faulkner and it started to work. Liam fought hard and pulled colclough back to 2-2.  The balcony was getting tense and we anticipated a close 5th. But Liam had already broken his oppos spirit and back!!! Man of the match to Liam.

Well done chaps and looking forward to more points next week vs wilmslow before a tough end to the first half vs bollington and Prestbury.
