Knutsford 4 v Prestbury 6

The second match of the season for the fourths and the need for a win to kickstart the season , and with a strong team against a struggling Prestbury hopes were high .

First on the Vet , promoted up the order at 2 , as he needed to dash and no.2 Tom from Prestbury was the only arrival .

Ian started nervously , lots of mishits , and the opener was tight . Ian snook it 9-7 before regaining his usual Thursday night composure and then won out 3-0 .

Capt. Geoff next on at 5 against a Lomas son Gary , clearly their best player but playing 5 as he had only just returned to squash . Geoff was superb , 2-0 up and no worries , but thenGarycame back . Soon it was 2-2 and Geoff well down in the fifth , a loss on the cards ? but no , Geoff came back strongly to win 9-7 , great performance .

Jacko up next , after his last match playing Prestbury 2 , their 6th team should be a walk in the park , and although his opponent had a tricky serve , it was !! , dropping only 5 points .

This 5 point dropped scenario was the same story for both Graham H. and Tony at 2 and 1 with more polished performances , very sharp court play , and a final result of a 20-2 win.

The fourths have a rearranged game next week on the 27th so make sure your availability is up to date !
